Kimberly Skelding, M.D.
Dr. Skelding was born in Mt. Carmel, Pennsylvania, and completed her undergraduate education at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA. She attended medical school at the Northwestern University School of Medicine, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Penn State Geisinger Medical Center, a fellowship in Cardiology at William Beaumont Hospital, and a fellowship In Interventional Cardiology at the Mayo Clinic. She has been active in education and has taught all over the United States, Europe and as far as Australia.
Prior to joining Alabama Heart and Vascular Medicine, Dr. Skelding worked at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA, where she served as the Director of Cardiovascular Research, Director of Cardiovascular Genomics, Director of the Women’s Heart and Vascular Health Program as well as leading the Structural Heart & Valve Program at Geisinger. She is Board Certified in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology.
Outside of work, she enjoys travelling and spending time with her husband, Kollin, and children, Blake and Lexi.
